Pet friendly bed and breakfast inns are plentiful in Asheville, whether you want a cottage catering to cats and dogs, an upscale place to stay that will welcome your pet or a chance to stay somewhere upscale without leaving your cat or dog at home.
These Asheville area bed and breakfast inns allow pets, although you should check with each for specific pet policies:
- 1847 Blake House Inn Bed & Breakfast - Italianate-Gothic style mansion, built of native stone, once used as a Field Hospital during the Civil War. They allow both cats and dogs at the inn. See the inn's pet policy.
- 1889 WhiteGate Inn & Cottage - On the National Register of Historic Places and Select Registry, this inn is surrounded by prize-winning gardens, a greenhouse/conservatory, cascading waterfalls and koi ponds, and is furnished with period antiques. They allow small dogs in the cottage only, according to the inn's pet policy.
- 1889 Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn - Beautiful home built by Richard Sharp-Smith, supervising architect of Biltmore Estate. In Montford Historic District near downtown Asheville. The inn feature's a special pet friendly cottage.
- 1900 Inn on Montford - Intimate and romantic - an elegant inn located in the Montford Historic District. A large Southern porch and a massive stone fireplace grace the inn. The inn's carriage house features heated floors and ground-floor rooms have doggy trundle beds.
- Abbingdon Green Bed & Breakfast Inn - Historic, gracious, romantic, a "bit of Britain." Award-winning inn in the Montford Historic District with English theme, prize-winning gardens, fireplaces and whirlpools. The inn's pet policy states that most pets are now allowed, but some well-behaved smaller dogs can be accommodated.
- Biltmore Village Inn - A luxury B&B in a Queen Anne Victorian four blocks from Biltmore Estate, built in 1892 by George Vanderbilt's lawyer. According to the inn's pet policy, they allow moderate-sized dogs in the pet friendly Forrest Suite.
- Carolina Bed & Breakfast - Boasting an acre of landscaped gardens in the Montford Historic District, this century-old property offers delicious breakfast, afternoon refreshments, large porch and parlors, fireplaces, private baths and laid-back comfort. The inn allows pets in a cottage and one of the rooms.
- Monte Vista Hotel - An old-fashioned, country style inn offering guests true Southern hospitality since 1919. The property offers a variety of packages and is within walking distance to many antique shops and galleries in Black Mountain.
